Welcome to Nest Pediatrics
Nest Pediatrics is a new name, but with the same location and many of the same health care providers that you have come to know and trust to care for your children. Nest is continuing to build on the practice established by Dr. Sang Jo Han over the past 13 years.
The providers at Nest Pediatrics value providing excellent care and ensuring your children are prepared to thrive as they grow. Nest is your first stop to keep your children healthy and protected and will either offer the required care, or refer your children to specialists as needed.
Nest provides the foundation for all of your child’s heath care needs as they grow and mature, and prepare to leave the family nest as adults.

What is a nurse practitioner?
We have five medical care providers at Nest Pediatrics who are nurse practitioners.
A nurse practitioner is a provider that manages acute and chronic medical conditions, both physical and mental, through the taking of a history from the patient/parent and a physical examination. Also, nurse practitioners are able to order diagnostic tests and medical treatments when necessary.
Nurse practitioners are qualified to diagnose medical problems, order treatments, prescribe medications and make referrals as needed within their scope of practice.
According to the American Association of Nurse Practitioners, “what sets nurse practitioners apart from other health care providers is their unique emphasis on the health and well-being of the whole person. With a focus on health promotion, disease prevention, and health education and counseling, nurse practitioners guide patients in making smarter health and lifestyle choices, which can in turn improve health and lower patients’ out-of-pocket costs.”
Nurse practitioners are licensed, autonomous professional clinicians who practice independently in the state of Illinois and manage health conditions and disease prevention. Our providers actively consult with physicians and specialists in the community to assure a complete quality care plan for our patients.
Does your clinic recommend vaccinations?
All of our health care providers at Nest Pediatrics advise immunizing in accordance with recommendations from the American Academy of Pediatrics and CDC. If you have concerns about immunizing your child, you are welcome to discuss them with your provider during your child’s visit.
