Kristen Klocker, APN, CPNP

Kristen Klocker is a graduate of Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin where she earned a Bachelors in Nursing.  After graduation, Kristen spent 12 years working for Alexian Brothers Medical Center in their special care nursery and postpartum.  She also worked for Pediatric Urology Partners after graduation where she gained experience in the outpatient pediatric setting.  It was while working that she decided to return back to school at Rush University to earn a Masters in Nursing in 2009.  Kristen is certified by the Pediatric Nursing Certification Board.  She is an adjunct clinical faculty member at Rush University and regularly precepts students in the Pediatric Nurse Practitioner program.

Kristen enjoys working with families and children to provide evidence-based care in a family centered environment.  She values the importance of establishing relationships with the families she sees.  Her special interests include newborn care, asthma, allergies, and mental health.  As a mother of twins, she shares a special bond with mothers of multiples.  She is a certified COPE Instructor, a program for building cognitive behavioral skills.  Kristen is bilingual in Spanish.

In her free time, Kristen enjoys spending time with her husband and two children, scrapbooking, time on the beach and long walks with her adorable puppy Moose.

Michelle Van Ewyk, APN, CPNP

Michelle Van Ewyk is a graduate of Elmhurst University where she earned a Bachelors of Science in Nursing.  After graduation, Michelle worked as a nurse on a pediatric and adult medical/surgical unit for 5 years.  She then transitioned to the PICU (pediatric intensive care unit).  During this time, Michelle decided to return to school, earning her DNP (Doctorate of Nursing Practice) at Rush University in the Pediatric Primary Care Nurse Practitioner Program.  She is certified by the Pediatric Nursing Certification Board.

Michelle enjoys working with the pediatric population and their families.  She enjoys watching her patients grow and develop.  She is specifically interested in wellness visits, immunizations, and treatment of acute illnesses.

In her personal time, Michelle enjoys spending time with her husband and baby girl.  She also loves to spend time with her 2 dogs, both fun and active doodles. 

Jenny Kim, APN, FNP-C

Jenny is a graduate of Alverno College in Milwaukee, where she earned a Bachelors in Nursing. After graduation, she spent 13 years working in a level 3 NICU before becoming a Family Nurse Practitioner. Her many roles in the hospital include NICU, Pediatrics, ED, transport team, and lactation team.

Jenny is certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners and a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics.

Jenny enjoys working with new parents, and empowering families to take control of their own family’s health. Her special interests include psychology, teen women’s health, lactation, allergies, biblical health, holistic and natural health, empowering families, keto and minimalism. She loves creating relationships with families and supporting them on their unique journey.

Her free time is spent with her husband and 3 children, church, crafting, cooking, decorating, upcycling furniture, gardening, and eating new foods.

Jill Whelan, APN, CPNP

Jill is a graduate of Marquette University in Milwaukee, where she earned a Bachelors in Nursing.  After graduation Jill started her career in nursing working in the Women and Infant Service Department at Alexian Brothers Medical Center.  During this time she decided to return to school, graduating from Rush University in 2004 with a Masters in Nursing.  Jill has worked in various outpatient clinics and schools, and enjoys seeing her patients grow and reach their milestones.

On a personal note, Jill lives with her husband and elementary aged son and daughter, two cats and a dog.  She loves being out in nature, especially being on a walk on a sunny day.  She enjoys traveling and is always excited about visiting a new beach!

Debbie Kunzon, APN, CPNP

Debbie is a graduate of Cornell University where she received a Bachelors in Biology.  She worked in immunology research before deciding to return to school to pursue a career in nursing.  She received her Bachelors and Masters degrees in Nursing from Rush University.  She worked as a nurse in the pediatric intensive care unit at Rush for 5 years before earning her Masters in Nursing.  She most recently worked as a pediatric nurse practitioner in kidney transplant at Lurie Children’s Hospital for the past 19 years.  Debbie is also on the professional advisory board of the National Kidney Foundation of Illinois, which helps plan appropriate activities for children with kidney disease.  Debbie enjoys working with children of all ages and is passionate about caring for children both emotionally and physically.

Debbie stays busy watching her daughter dance and her two boys play hockey.  She enjoys trips to the beach and Disney with her family.  She also loves to ski.  In her free time, she likes to read and do crossword puzzles. 

Kelly Gardynski, APN, CPNP

Kelly Gardynski is a graduate from the University of Iowa where she earned a Bachelors of Science in Nursing. After graduation, Kelly worked in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago for 8 years. There she was a part of the NICU CPR task force, developmental care committee, and became a certified breastfeeding counselor. She continued her education earning her DNP (Doctorate of Nursing Practice) at Rush University in the Pediatric Primary Care Nurse Practitioner Program.

Kelly is certified by the Pediatric Nursing Certification Board. She enjoys working with new mothers offering lactation support, empowering parents to be their child’s advocate, and providing children and their parents with the resources for a bright and healthy future. She is excited to create lasting relationships with all the Nest families.

In her free time, Kelly loves spending time with her new baby girl, husband, and Bernese mountain dog. She enjoys going on walks with them, spending time outdoors, and reading mystery novels.

Sang Jo Han, MD (Retired)

Dr.  Sang Jo Han is a graduate of Chonnam National University Medical School in South Korea.  He completed his residency training at Jersey City Medical Center in New Jersey.  After training he went on to do a fellowship in neonatology at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center.  After his fellowship he practiced in Moline, Illinois before moving to the Bloomingdale area.

Dr. Han feels quality care to the patient and their families is most important.  He has over 40 years of experience taking care of children in the surrounding communities.  He is board certified in pediatrics and neonatology.

On the weekend you may see Dr. Han on the golf course and spending time with his wife, three children, and six grandchildren.
